In the meantime, Cassy is doing very good. He lost some weight and his condition was poor after to his stay at the animal hotel in Amsterdam and the four weeks at the quarantine kennel here. But by exercising a lot (throwing tennis balls which he loves to retrieve), his condition is at the same level as before. Even his coat is much more better than it was before. Mary Knoppert clipped him before we left, and now his coat is in perfect condition. On January 21 and 22, we will show him for the first time in New Zealand. According to the owners of the quarantine kennel in Leving, both all breed judges, Cassy will be NZ Champion in no time. Let’s wait and see what the result will be.
During his stay at the quarantine kennel, Cassy was spotted. Within two days there was the request if Cassy could be used as a stud!! We now have contact with owner of the bitch. In this way, Cassy can earn some money to repay us for his travel expenses :-)
After we sent an email to the IWS-list, we were invited to visit people in Australia as well. They asked us when we could come over to show our Cassy. We will some time, but first we need a work permit. At present we can’t leave New Zealand for a trip overseas, as we are not allowed to re-enter the country.
We wish you, your family and all the dogs a Merry Christmas and a good, healthy and safe New Year.
Please find attached a picture of our Cassy, who met Santa for the first time in his life. He was so scared of the man in his red coat (and his surgery gloves) !!!!
